Happy New Year and Good Old Fashioned Fun!

Well as you can see, Matthew had a great time on New Year's Eve. Here is he decked out in his Happy New Year hat, complete with chocolate on his face. Does it get better than that when you're 3 1/2 years old? I think not.

So we decided to go to a near-by park that has some great hills and have a little old-fashioned fun. It was actually my mom's idea. We got a cardboard box (we couldn't find a real toboggan) and made "sleds." Yes, I know, there is no snow, but it was great fun.

Here's mom giving it a whirl. And I know what you're thinking: where is Camily? Well, I only have one picture of me that mom took and all you can see is this little tiny blue person up in the corner of the picture, so I thought I'd spare you all. Matthew and his "special cardboard" that I guess we will never be throwing away. Someday I'm going to have to blog about the word "special" and the "special" meaning it has in our family. Let me just say that if something is "special," it has infinite value and is to be considered of utmost importance to that person. I'll fill you in on my "special" bowls, my "special" comb, and my "special" blanket later. It's amazing to me that Matthew has already figured out just how special "special" is.

3 people had nice things to say:

That is so 'special'!! OK, in all seriousness, that is so sweet that he does realize the importance of something!

What is up with your mom and all these great ideas (ie, the mattress and now cardboard for sledding!)? She seems like one special lady herself!

Glad you guys had a great New Year!

I love the cardboard sled! And, I so understand "special" items! MeMe, Joan, has had many creative ideas her entire life - like the day she told me she would catch me if I jumped off the house! She did not catch me and I have brain damage from the creative idea!!!!
