Kindergarten!

I have known this day was coming, but nothing can fully prepare you for the day your first child goes to Kindergarten. It's unbelievable, really. It seems like we just brought him home from the hospital. How have 5 years gone by? How did he turn into this big boy? His own little person? I'm filled with memories today, with happiness, sadness, excitement, anxiety, all wrapped into one. I can't wait to go pick him up and hear how his day was. I wonder how he'll ever find his classroom tomorrow when we drop him off in the carpool line instead of walking him in (it's WAY in the back of the school). But I know he'll be fine. My dad says he'll have them all organized by the end of the day, and he's probably right. Most of all, I know it's going to be different! He'll learn so much, and he's so ready for that!
So, here he was this morning on the way out to the car. And just outside his classroom getting ready to go in.

They put their lunch boxes in the bin as they go into the room (notice Molly right behind him).

I call this "Cheek suck-in" which is what he does when he's nervous. So sweet.

And Miss Molly is just loving having the house all to herself! She's been running all around, getting into everything and being extra silly.
I couldn't help myself! She said "Mama, take my picture!" and as soon as I pressed down the shutter, she stuck her finger in her nose.
And on that note . . . Only 2 more hours til I find out how the first day in Kindergarten went!

Sweet and Sassy and Mr. Cool

We took Little to get her first hair cut and it was the cutest thing ever. We went to Sweet and Sassy, where they treated her like a little princess!

She looks so big and with the new "do," she definitely looks all of two years old! What a big girl!The finished product, complete with gold glitter in the hair (and a purple glitter star on her cheek). I'm thinking about going there for my next hair cut!
And the entry wouldn't be complete with out this picture of Mr. Cool. He dressed himself!

Well, it's about time!!!!

I know--I've kept you in suspense long enough. You were probably sitting at your computer checking every few minutes to see if I blogged. Well, here you go, it's about time!

There is much to say, but I'll let the pictures do the talking for the most part, or we'll all be here forever!

Let me take you back in time a couple of weeks to the first day of school. Matthew started Pre-K this year and Miss Molly started her official time at MDO--woo hoo! They love it and are doing great (except for the yellow dot on Matthew's chart today instead of a sticker with a note that said "we had to continually remind Matthew to listen and follow directions." Uh oh. We had a talk.) And yes--that's a pink bow in her hair with her orange shirt. You can't see her pink/orange skirt in this picture.

Last weekend, we went to my cousin Jennifer's (the same Jennifer featured in my last F&F Friday and the same Jennifer who hasn't blogged in 4 months--hint, hint). They have a beautiful new house and we had a weekend with all the fam--it was great. By the way, there was a conversation with my family regarding my Friends & Family Friday feature--I know, I know--it will be back. It's on sabatical.

Let me just say that I uploaded 124 pictures off of my camera tonight and this is the ONLY one I'm in. I know I'm the photog, but still! I need to hand the camera over a little more, apparently.
My aunt and uncle have a new boat, so we got to ride and it was so fun!

On the way home on Monday, we all stopped at the river for a little fun in the water. Well, the boys had fun--Molly wasn't impressed. She wouldn't even dip her tootsies in--she was adamant._______________________________________________________________

THEN, as if all this fun wasn't enough, Uncle Brian was in town on Saturday. For those of you who don't know, he's a sound engineer and travels around with Huey Lewis. And the News. It's super cool and if you're 4 years old, it's almost too cool to believe--Matthew digs rock and roll. So, we went on over and watched the sound check. The actual show was too loud and too late for little ears--but the sound check was way cool. That's Uncle B doing his work and Matthew's head watching in amazement.

Matthewness

Matthew fell asleep on the couch after his first day at Preschool. Never, ever, ever in the history of the world has he fallen asleep on the couch.

This is Matthew in all of his Matthewness. He dressed himself, including fireman boots and fireman hat--we were on our way to get ice cream. He almost always has a car in his hands. I love this picture because it is completely my Matthew and his little (big!) personality!
