Here we are . . .

So see what we've been up to! We have been busy having lots of fun! Over the weekend, Mike's cousin, Kate, came to visit from Chicago. We loved having her here. I also took the kids to a local hotel with my mom for a couple of nights and we had a mini-vacation, swimming, swimming, and more swimming, room service, etc. It was wonderful!

Here's a little video of the past couple of days. Matthew learned a new skill! (Only the first few seconds of the video are sideways--sorry!) Then check out Little Miss Personality! Molly isn't always "herself" with other people. They see the quiet, soft-spoken, sweet girl, which is definitely one side of her, but in this video, you can see a little more of what we see everyday. So cute!

Happy Wednesday! Love you!

Gorgeous in Dallas

Look who was here! My Most Loyal Blog Follower, aka "Gorgeous" aka Auntie Judy! She came in last weekend for work and we got to spend some fun family time at the Arboretum, which was faboo! She's my mom's sister, can you tell? The great thing about the Arboretum is that it is beautiful and great for adults, but also has fun things for the kiddies.

We had a great time! I got to see her for a wee bit on Monday, but she was working, so we didn't get to visit adequately. We all got to go to a luncheon honoring Laura Bush and her work for The Heart Truth and the Susan G. Komen For the Cure. It was so nice--and we got to get dressed up and do something fancy, which is always fun!

Christmas Season Fun

Oh y'all, we had such fun yesterday. We got up early and headed downtown for the Christmas parade. It was the first time I had been to it, and it was so worth it! I think this may really be a new family tradition for us. It was great!

Of course I had to stop in this cute little window sill and try to take some pictures of Matthew and Molly--until I looked at them and realized that they looked like they had gotten up early and been sitting outside in the cold for 3 hours. They were still cute pics, but let's just say . . . not Christmas card material!

I still had no photo for our Christmas cards (kind of like the cobbler's kids with no shoes), so we headed down for a family photo shoot--dressed up and as precious as can be. I got a few good shots, but Molly didn't want to sit close to Matthew, and Matthew knew this. Of course he was bothering her, and trying to sit closer and closer. It was definitely one of those brother/sister moments!

This says it all.

We also spent some time at the mall, doing a little Christmas shopping, and I love this picture of my mom. Her eyes really are that blue.

I still have a lot of shopping to do this week, I want to take the kids to see Santa, it's my week to do snack for Matthew's class, meals to cook, Christmas cards to address, family Christmas weekend to prepare for, Matthew's class field trip on Wednesday, and a teacher appreciation luncheon to organize. How fun! I think there are some weeks when this might overwhelm me, but I just love Christmas and am so thankful that I can do these things for my family--truly.
Oh--one more cute thing. Long story short: At church this morning, I took Matthew up with me to the front of our church to do communion (his first communion in big church). I whispered all of the instructions, we wait in line, get up to the front, kneel down, say our prayer, the minister comes over and gives us the cracker and juice and says (this is the body of Christ, the blood of Christ . . .), Matthew eats, drinks, and then looks up at the minister and says "Can I have more juice?!" So sweet and funny! Then he folds his little hands and says his prayer and I was just in awe at my precious boy.

Thanksgiving Part Deux

This is how Molly posed when I picked up the camera. She thinks she's smiling when she closes her eyes. Notice the 2 pacifiers--one in her mouth and one in her hand. Every girl needs 2 of her favorite accessory! More of Matthew and Uncle David's Thanksgiving hilarity--aka playdough moustaches.

This is the ONLY picture I took of our OKC Christmas shopping weekend. It was too windy and cold to take any outside or to lug the presents up to the hotel room for our sorting and picture taking--so this is the only evidence! My mom, my aunt Judith and cousin Jennifer having a drink break at Target.

And lastly, Matthew's Thanksgiving performance at school. My mom and Matthew enjoyed their special Pumpkin Pie day. (Matthew made the pilgrim hat).

Matthew in the middle of the performance. I could have cried they were so cute--oh wait! I did cry!
Still Thankful, and Thanksgiving is already gone. Love you all!
