Well, I am sitting here trying to think of something very clever to say, but alas, I've got nothin'. Today was just a day--I got up earlier than usual, showered, but did not do hair or makeup, Matthew went back to school, I spent my time playing with Molly and giving her a little more attention than usual since we haven't gotten our special time together in a while. I also cleaned, did laundry, etc. Molly fell and bonked her baby head on the wood floor and I cried. She has a big lump on her forehead and it really hurt--more than a normal head bonk. I went to Hobby Lobby (aka Hobbus Lobbus) to look at scrapbooking stuff for my upcoming retreat (woo hoo--only 3 more weeks!) and I tried really hard to buy something with my 40% off coupon, but couldn't find anything coupon-worthy. So I left empty-handed--how is that possible? We picked up Matthew from school, went by Taco Cabana to get "quesadilla makings" for Matthew--he's in this phase where he LOVES quesadillas and I can pick up fresh tortillas and a little grilled chicken fajita meat and it's easy as pie. I needed to drop by the grocery store, but Molly was getting hungry and I didn't have a bottle, so that was out. We came home, Matthew ate 3 chocolate chip cookies and water (that he fixed by himself--big deal!), watched his favorite show, and I fed Molly and put her down for a late nap. I sat on the couch with Matthew and watched one more Meteor (his current favorite show) with him in my lap, which I love, because I got to hold him for 30 whole minutes and I didn't care that we were watching too much tv. Molly woke up, we all played a bit and I folded a load of laundry while flying paper airplanes. Mike came home, we all cooked and ate an actual healthy meal at the actual kitchen table like a family. I went to the gym (the eating better and working out is a whole other blog entry--but I'm really doing very well if I do say so myself), came home and tucked Matthew in, said prayers (he inserted the Pledge of Allegiance in his prayer, which was cute and I'm very impressed that he knows it), sang the Night Night song, and am now blogging. This was a basic day for us--one that sometimes goes by too slowly and I find myself looking at the clock wondering when Mike will be home. But I am so, so thankful for this day. So thankful to be at home with my children, so thankful to have had some play time, some time to clean, some time to hold and love Matthew, and to be able to kiss Molly and love her and cry when she bonked her head. So thankful that my life, full of imperfections, is rich with love. Believe me, I am not a picture perfect mom or wife, but I'm doing the best I can and I'm ok with that. I'm also thankful that I'm blogging, because it gives me some time each week to stop and think about my life, about my children, and to be more purposeful in reflecting--I would hate to miss these wonderful moments, even if they are just "every-day" days. So there you go, it was a good day after all.
3 people had nice things to say:

"I look with Wonder at that which is before me!"
Darling Camily, wonder is found in being the best you no matter what you are doing. You are a WONDERful woman, wife, mother, daughter, niece among a multitude of roles you play. I admire you and I love reading about your daily life - a miracle takes place each time YOU perform the most simple of duties!
Is this Miss Molly's head banging incident? No doubt it was upsetting to you both!
Matther fixing his own cookie treat now that is a miracle. I hope you acknowledge your Powerful life, you are a force to be reckoned with!
