So, somehow I signed up for Mom's Magazine. I have no recollection of doing so, but I'm glad that I did. They sent me an awesome goodie bag full of products to try (they did not! ask me to write anything about the magazine or products on my blog), but even better than that, they had an article talking about "Your Best Day" with tips about how to create a best day for your family. So it kind of got me thinking...what would our best day be like? And then I realized--we already had it, um, er,
them. Best days. We've had 6 or 7 best days this summer and they all involve our whole family being together at the pool with friends. These are our most relaxed, fun times. We usually hang out, eat something that requires no preparation (order pizza, order poolside at the swanky country club my friend belongs to, or just eat cheetos and strawberries while sipping white wine or even Smirnoff's new Cranberry Lime coolers). The kids are in heaven with the dad's tossing them up in the air into the pool, moms visiting, laughter ringing through the air, with no worries of bed time, messes in the house, laundry to do, etc. Just good, clean fun (does spending all day in the pool mean we're clean enough to skip bath time? Why yes, yes it does)! All of us. Together. Definitely our
best days.
2 people had nice things to say:
Best days last forever in our memory! Best summer days at the pool, sipping iced drinks, playing Marco Polo and going to bed without a bath - bring 'um on - I love Best summer days!
