You didn't think I forgot, did you?

Surely you know me better than that by now. After all, on August 28th, it was my 3 year blogoversary. So by now you should know me well enough to know that I would never, ever NOT post pictures of Matthew and Molly's first day of school! It was only, well, ahem, a week and a half ago.
Mr. Matthew is in first grade this year! It is so bittersweet because there is a big part of me that wants him to still be little and to stay that way and be home with me. But there is this smaller part of me that is happy that he's at school, learning, having fun with his friends, and doing boy things. Side note: I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my sweet husband for teaching Matthew to make the fart noise under his sweaty armpit this summer. I sincerely hope that there is not a phone call from the principal's office regarding said new skill. Side note to the side note: I hate the word "fart." I much prefer "toot." But the noise that he is making under the armpit with such enthusiasm and glee is most definitely not a toot.
Also I love this picture because it shows his front teeth the way they are right now. These teeth are very wiggly and the new ones coming in are pushing the old ones out at a funny angle. It's kind of adorable.

As you can tell, he was very patient with taking pictures this particular morning.

The big boy walking up to school.

Love the lip--he's a little nervous, but cool at the same time.

Time for me to leave him. Shut up. I did not get teary eyed leaving my six year old in first grade. That's only for Kindergarten moms. Really. I wouldn't do that. At least not where anyone could see.

Molly started Preschool 3's the next day. In an outfit that she picked out herself and insisted upon wearing. They got to take a "lovey" to school, which explains the teddy bear.

Love.

When she's nervous or shy or just not quite sure about things, the finger goes in her mouth. It's just better there, apparently.

Still not sure about things, but no finger in the mouth. Progress.

So with both of the kids at school, I was left without any one to photograph. Good dog.

5 people had nice things to say:

OMG
Matthew is a boy, not even a little boy, he is a Boy! Love the hair and the back pack - first grade will be so much fun for him and YOU!

Miss Molly in Pink - I'm telling you, you gotta call an ad agency for cute girls - she's got the pizzaz, the hair, eyes and smile that the agencies are screaming for!

Love the pic of Tabasco - he is a good dog!

Happy free time,
